An update on a story we brought you last week. Police have now charged a man in connection with the explosion at a home on D'Arcy Street in Pembroke. According to Upper Ottawa Valley OPP, it was a drug lab that sparked the explosion on Thursday afternoon. Police say there was one man and a three month old child inside the home when the butane marijuana extraction laboratory blew up. Police executed a search warrant at the home the next day. No one was seriously hurt, though the man and child were taken to hospital as a precaution. 31 year old Kurt Dehaan of Petawawa faces several drug charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, as well as one count of arson by negligence, and one count of possession of counterfeit money. He'll appear in court next month.
