A three day fishing enforcement blitz by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry resulted in several charges and warnings being laid. Earlier this month, officers checked 246 anglers from Renfrew County, Frontenac County, Lanark County and the City of Ottawa. They were checking for compliance with the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act and the Ontario Fishery Regulations. In total, 12 charges were laid and 30 warnings were handed down for either fishing without a licence, fishing with more than the permitted number of lines or being more than 60 meters from the fishing line in use.
