Operating a school breakfast and snack program has a Petawawa woman facing serious allegations.
Upper Ottawa Valley OPP say the Renfrew County District School Board contacted the police in November of 2017 with some concerns.
The board released a statement after the OPP saying that in September of 2017, staff noticed a discrepancy in the accounts dedicated to the Renfrew County Food for Learning Student Nutrition Program operated at Valour JK-12 School.
As a result of the OPP investigation, 40-year-old Robin E. Van Hoof has been charged with fraud and theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, criminal breach of trust, and a charge related to using a forged document.
RCDSB say they have a zero tolerance policy for any behaviour that reflects fraud, and that Van Hoof is no longer employed by the board.
She was released on a promise to appear and will appear in Pembroke court on March 13.
Anyone with information regarding this investigation is being asked to contact the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP or Pembroke/Renfrew County Crime Stoppers.
