Lanark County has a new warden. Perth Mayor John Fenik was nominated to the post by Councillor Aubrey Churchill, the Reeve of Drummond North Elmsley, who pointed to his 20 years of experience as an elected official and his involvement with countless boards and committees. She says Fenik is a man of deep convictions, who always works for what he believes is best for the county. Fenik, who also served as warden in 2010, says his priorities are to finish the Ottawa Valley Recreation Trail project and to increase broadband connectivity. Outgoing Warden Bill Dobson says it was honour to represent the county over the last year, noting that the public had considerable input that added to the democratic process.
