It's back to budget deliberations at a Special Council Meeting in McNab-Braeside Wednesday night. Mayor Tom Peckett says the 2018 budget document is a difficult beast to slay.

The Mayor says a number of factors seem to be forming a perfect storm to keep the local levy higher than elected representatives would prefer it to be. The cost of supplies has gone up, McNab-Braeside has to do some shopping for the Roads Department, and McNab-Braeside's OPP assessment has increased 1.8 percent. Peckett says his council held two initial meetings assessing the Township's needs, and then a third meeting where members brought their scissors. The McNab-Braeside Mayor says councillors are keeping their noses to the grindstone to have the budget completed by year's end. Wednesday's Special Council meeting on budget matters begins at 6PM in Council Chambers.
