The first ever Paddle for AGH will finally be a go this weekend.

The day full of fun benefits the Almonte General Hospital's Fairview Manor Foundation.

Al Roberts is the managing director of the foundation and he says that they are in the mids of a huge fundraising campaign.

The orginal event was supposed to run on Canada Day as a 150 celebration, but there was a safety concern with high water levels.

There will be a 5 kilometre community paddle on kayaks, canoes and paddle boards as well as a raft building event that participants will then race across the river.

Everything is being held this Sunday at the beach at the Almonte Fairgrounds and will go from 11 until 4.

Anyone participating is asked to get sponsored or raise some money to benefit AGH.
