CALABOGIE BLUES AND RIB FEST RETURNS THIS WEEKEND

It's one of the biggest music festivals in the area and a huge draw for blues lovers. The 7th annual Calabogie Blues and Ribfest kicks off today (Friday) at 4pm at Calabogie Peaks and this year's event promises to be a rockin' good time with the tastiest ribs in town.

ANNUAL TASTE OF THE VALLEY MAKES FIRST STOP TOMORROW

The annual Taste of the Valley tour kicks off tomorrow, with the first stop in Barry's Bay. According to Paige Visneskie with the Railway Station, there will be lots to do. Taste of the Valley runs from 10 until 5pm and is free to attend.

DEMOLITION DERBY WILL KICKSTART ARNPRIOR FAIR TONIGHT

It's always a huge draw for the Arnprior Fair and President of the Agricultural Society, Jeff Desarmia, credits the Demolition Derby's success to decades of experience. Last year's derby was washed out and replaced with a mud run due to pouring rain.

FACIAL RECONSTRUCTION IN COLD CASE BRINGS IN MANY TIPS

OPP say the response to a clay facial reconstruction of an unidentified man has been outstanding. On July 26, the reconstructed face of a body that was found in Algonquin Park in April of 1980 was released to the public.

ARCHIVES LAUNCH EXHIBIT ON 150 YEARS OF LIVING OFF THE LAND

The Arnprior and McNab-Braeside Archives has put seven thousand dollars in provincial grant money to good use with the launch of its oral history project, 150 years of living off the land.
