SEARCH ON FOR MISSING CARLETON PLACE MAN

Ottawa Police are turning to the public to help locate a missing Carleton Place man. Officers are searching for 48 year old, Howard Sonnenburg and believe he may be in the Ottawa area. Sonnenburg is described as a heavy set white male, 5'9 and roughly 250lbs.

BARRYVALE ROAD IN BAD SHAPE

The Barryvale Road is in particularly bad shape according to residents. Greater Madawaska council did not dispute the concerns brought to them Tuesday (Aug 23) but cited the lack of available funds as the reason the road has not been fixed.

Mississippi Mills is still accepting input on the proposed sale of Don Maynard Park until the end of the business day on Wednesday, August 31st. A petition was received by council asking them to halt any sale.

Pembroke and Arnprior are the two stops in the Ottawa Valley today (aug.29) for the Ottawa Senators Hometown Tour. The first stop will be at the Pembroke Canadian Tire from 2:30pm to 5pm - with the event in Arnprior running at its Canadian Tire from 4pm to 7:30pm.

POSSIBILITY OF POSTAL DISRUPTION MEANS ONTARIO WORKS CHEQUES WON'T BE MAILED

Ontario Works cheques will not be mailed out on Tuesday (Aug 30). Those with direct deposit will see no change and their cheques will go directly to their bank accounts but anyone who normally gets a cheque in the mail should drop by the office Tuesday.
